Opening day January 1, 1916. 

The course opened with only 9-holes ready for play and without a real name, just a generic label “the Country Club at Davista.” Soon after, the course would be officially named the St. Petersburg Country Club and in 1924 re-named the Jungle Country Club.From 1916 until it closed, the course was billed as St. Petersburg’s oldest course.
