The black and white photograph was taken sometime after 1926 when the hotel opened. According to the description, the little girl is "probably Betty." I have not been able to connect that name to anyone associated with the hotel. The caption writer may have been making a little joke. Betty Jean Miller was a reporter with the local newspapers who, for over 30 years, wrote articles about St. Petersburg history. She wasn't born until 1931, but that would be part of the joke.
