July 18th is Gertrude and Heathcliff Day


On July 18th we pay tribute to the first peahen and peacock of the Jungle neighborhood, brought here in 1953 by the Rothman family (of Kane's Furniture fame). Since that time, the Jungle peafowl population has increased to an estimated fifty.
