Just days after spotting the wild black-hooded parakeets (also known as nanday conures) on a power line overlooking my backyard (see previous post), they began feasting on sunflower and safflower seeds in my backyard bird feeder. Other birds are still getting their fair share ‒ the nanday conures are at the feeder only briefly, wildly riding on a feeder meant for smaller birds and spilling seeds everywhere to the delight of mourning doves and squirrels on the ground.
I took some pictures and video of the festive event.
