At the peak of his fame, during every spring for over a decade, Babe Ruth was a guest at the Jungle Country Club Hotel (now Admiral Farragut Academy). He played hundreds of rounds of golf on the Jungle course in what is now the Azalea neighborhood. A century ago, his presence brought fame to St. Petersburg and The Jungle.
