Where is the Jungle?

The Jungle extends across two square miles of land on the west side of St. Petersburg, Florida bounded by Boca Ciega Bay, 5th Avenue North, and the Pinellas Trail.

Map of Jungle area:
Jungle area (light green) that is within St. Pete city limits includes these neighborhoods - Azalea, Jungle Prada, and a portion of Jungle Terrace. Subdivisions include Golf Course and Jungle Sub, Jungle Country Club, Jungle Country Club Additions 2-4, Jungle Shores, Jungle Terrace, and Boca Ciega Shores.

The parcel north of St. Petersburg city limits that includes the Boca Ciega Resort and Doc Ford's Restaurant is also in the Jungle. This area (bounded on the north by the Seminole/Bay Pines bridge) has been considered part of the Jungle going back to the early 1900's.

The Jungle has been recognized as an area of St. Petersburg since the early 20th century. This 1913 article from the St. Petersburg Daily Times refers to extension of the trolley line to the Jungle.
