General course overview:

The natural beauty of the Davista section, especially those that border on the tropical are seen over the entire course and even if a person does not play, the benefits of the walk and a view of the scenery makes it well worth while.[1]

There are many natural hazards throughout the course and great bunkers of palmetto roots have been thrown up.[2]

The first short hole on the course is number five. It is only 210 yards in length and is sporty for every one.[1]

The teeing ground was at the current intersection of Robinson Drive and Russell Drive. The putting green is at 1110 Farragut Drive North.

Above is pictured part of the large gallery of golf fans who watched Horton Smith, Joe Turnesa and Frank Walsh play their final round in the St. Petersburg Open. These fans are grouped around the green at the short fifth hole waiting for the players to arrive after their drives.[3] (Newspaper photo colorized).
