Walter Hagen was considered the best golfer in the world when he moved into 320 Park Street South on St. Petersburg's west coast and became president of the Bear Creek Golf and Country Club (now the Pasadena Yacht and Country Club).
He won 45 PGA tour victories and 11 majors (only Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have more majors).
Major victories:
U.S. Open: 1914, 1919
British Open: 1922, 1924, 1928, 1929
PGA Championship: 1921, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927.
And... he holds the course record 64 on the Jungle golf course.
